Artist Net
Anyone else notice how wide the net has been cast on the definition if "artist"?
I've heard mechanics, strippers, DJs, chefs, taylors, computer programmers and carpenters all described as such.
While I won't argue that what they do is creative - because it surely is, nor will I argue that the "artist net" shouldn't extend itself beyond te gallery - because it should! My problem is that if we use the term "artist" anytime someone is good at something, what term do we reserve for actual artists?
Can't we call these people "crafstsmen"?
