The fan-ficking-tastic Lilly McElroy sent me this message.
I was flattered.
I had no idea she even knew who the fuck I was (am).

Dear Richard,
2009 was a difficult year for a lot of people. In response to the lost jobs, lost homes, major and minor tragedies, personal frustrations, heartbreak, etc., I am working on a project that called “ 2009 Was A Rough Year” and I am hoping that you would be willing to help me.

I would need you to:
Take a picture that represents the worst, most heartbreaking, or most frustrating moment you experienced in 2009.
E-mail it to me at lilly . mcelroy @ gmail . com
Include as much or as little additional information as you would like.


I’m planning on turning this into a slide show and making a website. If you want to remain anonymous you can.

I Throw Myself at Men

I am, at the moment, part projectile and part foolish romantic. These images are documents of a hopeful and violent gesture, a demand that the possibility of a connection exist. The men often look terrified or at least slightly surprised. My role as aggressor is clear and I think my leaps acknowledge the basic human desire for contact.

To date, there have been no major injuries.
